![]() Here are the specs on the Winter Tempest vs. Plus it has the most powerfull weapon in the game: Winter Tempest.Īctually, the Polaris Capacitor Pulse Laser is the most powerful beam weapon available, I believe (but the Winter Tempest does come close). Also, I can't control the Raven (probably the most powerful ship in the game) nearly as well because of the inertialess (sp?) drive. As far as Polaran ships, I prefer the Scarab (it's pretty fast for a capital ship and almost as powerful as the Raven). My next favorite would be the Rebel Class V Valk, then the Rebel Class E Starbridge. Nothing comes close as far as weapon space and speed (for a med. ![]() The ship I use the most is the Pirate Class IV Valk. If you're going pirate hunting for cash, it's very easy to blow your mark right out of the proverbial sky (anything below 'capital ship' only lasts for a couple seconds at best if you tag it with all the lasers). The only downside is that the raven is sometimes too badass. At full loadout, anything that gets in front of a Raven dies (2 capacitor lasers, 2 biorelay lasers, 2 biorelay turrets.) And that's before you take into account the 8 mantas the raven is 'factory equipped' with or the uber-swank multi-torps which kill most ships (even larger capital ships) outright. If it wasn't inertia-less, the raven would be totally broken in terms of gameplay. Polaris Raven: The ship I ended my latest run-through with. IDA Frigate: It'll take quite a bit of cash to get the IDA to a truly combat-ready capital ship (to call a plain-vanilla IDA 'slow' would be kind) but load it out with maneuverability upgrades and convert much of the cargo space to weapon space and you can get a very nice capital ship that can take and dish much pain (I prefer fusion pulse turrets and railguns if you don't have access to Polaris weaponry.) For the late game, the ships I've gone with are the IDA Frigate and Polaris Raven. I always go for the starbridge after the shuttle. However, I also love the Vell-os ships and the Starbridge. The Zephyr is definitely the best ship in EVN from a bang : buck perspective. There's no way I should be able to take out capital flagships in a Polaris Zephyr (a heavy figher/light capital ship). but the Raven - and all of the Polaris ships, really - are undercosted, overpowered, and to be blunt, totally unbalanced. It has allowed me to (so far) become the overlord of two systems. Its primary weapon feels like the Death Star's superlaser and takes out frigates in one shot. I have to say that I love my pilot's Polaris Raven. View image here: - It also looked like a space shuttle with purple wings, the absolute height of cool. One of the few balanced ships in any small plugin ever. It wasn't underpriced or overpowered, it was balanced. my favourite ship ever is from a plugin to the original EV: The Maskirovika Phantom.
